We offer a range of Object Handling courses:
CIEH Accredited Principles of Manual Handling
This 1/2-day CIEH Accredited course is designed to complement the CIEH Basic Health & Safety programme, is aimed at those who carry out manual handling activities at work and introduces students to the hazards of manual handling, the risks and controls available and what to expect from a manual handling assessment.
Basic
1/2-1-day course designed for new or first level staff. These courses focus on the basic information and skills necessary to protect staff during moving and handling procedures. The course covers the causes of musculoskeletal injuries, current safety legislation, basic principles and practical techniques which can be used in every day situations in the workplace. Ideal for all staff involved in object handling.
Advanced
2-day course for Senior Staff, Managers and those responsible for managing safe handling practice. This course has been specifically designed to meet the needs of staff in a supervisory role. The course looks at the current legal framework relating to safe handling practices, assessing manual handling risks, musculoskeletal injuries and their causes, and how to address moving and handling situations using safe effective practical techniques.

ARC Learning Ltd. also offer a Manual Handling Consultancy Services, giving advice on Risk Assessment, Equipment Provision, Policy Development and Workplace Ergonomics.
GENERAL INFORMATION
All of our courses and services may be run in-house or externally; and are discussed and tailored to meet exact individual client requirements. Practical training will be run with 1 tutor to 6 students, for safety reasons.
Appropriate clothing and footwear are requires to be work for practical sessions. No flip-flops or short restrictive skirts, etc.
We regret, we are unable to accept students who are pregnant or on sick leave, throughout the practical elements of any course.
