Equality & Diversity
Equality and Diversity Advisory Service
In 2004 17.5% of the population were disabled, and this figure has been on the increase since.
There are over half a million wheelchair users in the UK. This represents only 5% of the disabled population. The other 95% still need to be considered.
Although each Employer and Services Provider is required to comply with the DDA, the reasonable adjustments differ depending on the individual company, the service they provide and their resources. ARC Learning Ltd can help people make the right desision and ensure that money is not unnecessarily spent. Advice can be given on Goverment funding for certain reasonable adjustments.
This service aims to assist companies and organisations in their understanding of disability. ARC Learning Ltd is able to present training on Disability Diversity (Equality) and the DDA from the point of view of a disabled person, founded on the social model of disability. This means that participants will have a greater understanding enabling them to redesign service delivery making it more disable friendly and accessible. This training is of great benefit to all staff, but in particular to customer service staff.
Please call us to discuss how we are able to assist you.
