CIEH Level 2 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace
This qualification will benefit anyone in a work environment as it provides candidates with an understanding of health and safety that will enable them to contribute to any risk assessment based health and safety management system. The course is run over 7 hours, and is ideal for NVQ candidates. Successful completion of the training programme (assessment by multi choice exam), will promote an understanding of:
Health & safety legal requirements
Hazards and risks, and the main causes of harm to workers
Health, safety and welfare provisions in the workplace
The importance of following safe systems of work, procedures and rules
Hazards and controls in respect to both safety and occupational risks
How their own actions can reduce risks to health and safety
Basic Health & Safety in the Workplace
A half day course covering the basic principles of health & safety in the workplace. Topics covered include:
Health & safety law
Risk assessment
Accident prevention
Infection control and PPE
Safe use of gas & electricity
Slips, trips and falls
Ladder safety
COSHH
This course may be adapted to suit the specific health and safety requirements of any occupational group. An ARC Learning Ltd. Health & Safety Awareness Certificate will be awarded to candidates. All courses run by a qualified health & safety officer, or in the event of course delegates coming from a care background, by a nurse/safety officer.
